Counselling therapy combined with movement, breath and mindfulness, you will be guided to (re)discover your own agency, resilience and sense of self-awareness in a safe and private setting. Embodied Counselling sessions are co-designed with you to develop new skills toward achieving your therapeutic goals.

What to expect
Your first session will involve a brief mental state assessment before exploring your therapy goals and identify any physical and/or cognitive adjustments you may prefer. Once we have established a treatment plan together your facilitator will lead you through a few simple movements, breathing exercises and mindfulness activities, pausing intermittently for therapeutic counselling before ending with short guided relaxation and reflection.

About your therapist
Amy is a qualified social worker, mental health clinician, rehabilitation counsellor and yoga teacher certified in Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), the first yoga-based empirically validated, clinical intervention for complex trauma or chronic, treatment-resistant post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Amy is a registered member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

Embodied Counselling includes all parts of you for treatment- your body, your mind and your current sense of self. The purpose of bringing movement, breath and mindfulness into therapy is to help increase awareness of your body while your mind is processing memories, thoughts and feelings. Infact, Embodied Counselling can be a helpful addition to your current psychology or counselling sessions.
Absolutely. The sessions are co-designed with you based on your physical and cognitive abilities. The studio is wheelchair accessible and there are free on-street parking available outside the building.

Assistive props will be provided for use but you are welcome to bring your own. Please wear clothing that will allow your body to move freely.
We offer a concession rate for participants who have a valid Pensioner Concession Card. NDIS participants may be eligible for funded sessions through their NDIS plan.
Home visits can be arranged for returning clients with a travel fee depending on location. Online sessions will be available at a later time to regular clients.
There is no cancellation fee but any deposit paid will be non-refundable if cancelled within 12 hours before your appointment time.
